So this might be, for example, if you choose to join together with another – say you are one business and you wish to join with a distributor in another jurisdiction, say you are a U.S. Company and want to work in Brazil, sometimes you form a partnership to be able to exploit your product line in another market which might not have been open to you for competitive reasons like not having distribution. So basic choice is this business question is how do you structure these things legally? Now the partnerships are relevant in other contexts, but we will mostly touch on this.So why would you as a business development executive be interested in a partnerships? Partnership law is a preferred form for certain strategic partnerships, the options are usually joint ventures or partnerships, but there are other vehicles, which are used. There are also common form and small services such as the practice of law for instance, or accountants, we feel that is probably less relevant for our attendees. They are one type of business that your strategic partners may propose, and understanding how partnerships works with other types of business forms can be crucial in insuring the successful completion of your strategic partnership and of the business that you are developing in whatever form.
